The search has two (2) main categories: the Green and Resilient Category.

Only those who have attended or completed the training requirement may be considered to join.

The period of submission of entries is from August 8 to September 30, 2024.

Organizations may only submit one (1) entry each for the Green and Resilient categories.

Previous winners are welcome to rejoin, provided that their entries showcase new or improved initiatives compared to their past submissions.

The QC Green Awards Committee enforces electronic submission of entries through the official Google form link. In case of any Additional supporting documents or Means of Verification may be submitted via email at entry.greenawards@quezoncity.gov.ph.

The QC Green Awards Committee reserves the right to accept or refuse entries submitted through other platforms and to strictly implement paperless-generated submissions.

Submission of entries is completely free of charge.
By submitting the entry form, you give consent for the QC Green Awards Committee to process and release your information for any relevant purpose in line with the awards' objectives. The committee may also edit, repackage, or use the submitted information for the purposes of publication in the future.
CERTIFICATION OF ACCURACY
The submission of the entry form must certify that all information provided by the applicant is true, accurate, and complete.
GREEN CATEGORY
BARANGAYS
Must have an established Barangay Environment Committee through any legal instruments (ie. Barangay Resolution, Executive Order or any other similar issuances).
Sangguniang Kabataan COUNCILS
Must have an SK Council Resolution appointing an Environmental Focal Person.
Youth OrganizationS
Must be registered with Quezon City Youth Development Office, President/Chairman/Head of the organization must have his/her own bank account, and/or legal document for special consideration.
Businesses
Must have a valid and current Mayor’s Permit issued by the QC Business Permits and Licensing Department.
Note: Branches and attached agencies are considered separate organizations from their Central Offices. For example, Business X has multiple branches within Quezon City, given that their branches operate on separate business permits, they are considered separate organizations and may individually submit their own entries.
Hospitals
Any Public and Private Hospitals that has an existing and valid DOH License to Operate (LTO)
Schools
Any public and private primary, secondary schools, and higher education institutions (HEIs) with the following requirements:
i) Public Schools: DepEd School ID
ii) Private Schools: DepEd License to Operate, and a valid and current Mayor’s Permit issued by the QC Business Permits and Licensing Department
iii) Science High Schools: DOST Accreditation
iv) State and Local Universities: CHED Authorization/Recognition
v) Private Colleges/Universities: CHED Accreditation, and a valid and current Mayor’s Permit issued by the QC Business Permits and Licensing Department
RESILIENT CATEGORY
BARANGAYS
Must have an established Barangay DRRM Committee through any legal instruments (ie. Barangay Resolution, Executive Order or any other similar issuances).
i) Category A: Barangays with income of 50 Million Pesos and above
ii) Category B: Barangays with income of at least 20 Million Pesos but below 50 Million Pesos
iii) Category C: Barangays with income below 20 Million Pesos
Sangguniang Kabataan COUNCILS
Must have an SK Council Resolution appointing a DRRM Focal Person.
Youth OrganizationS
Must be registered with Quezon City Youth Development Office, President/Chairman/Head of the organization must have his/her own bank account, and/or legal document for special consideration.
Businesses
Must have a valid and current Business Permit issued by the City and categorized by company assets:

i) Large Organizations (Total Assets above Php 100,000,000)

The QC Green Awards is an award-giving program that recognizes and rewards outstanding and inclusive programs, projects, and best practices in Climate Action and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) by Barangays, Sangguniang Kabataan Councils, Youth Organizations, Businesses, Public and Private Hospitals, and Schools within Quezon City.
What are the prizes for the QC Green Awards?
A total of forty-eight (48) winners will be recognized during the QC Green Awards Ceremony in November 2024. Each winner will receive a trophy and a cash grant to support their organization’s ongoing or future Climate Action and DRRM projects.
What are the Green and Resilient Categories?
The competition has two main categories:

Green Category: This includes awards for Barangays, Sangguniang Kabataan Councils, Youth Organizations, Businesses, Hospitals, and Schools based on Local Climate Change Action Plan Pillars.

Resilient Category: This includes awards for Barangays, Sangguniang Kabataan Councils, Youth Organizations, Businesses, Hospitals, and Schools based on Disaster Risk Reduction and Management projects and scorecards.
Who can join the QC Green Awards?
The competition is open to all Barangays, Sangguniang Kabataan Councils, Youth Organizations, Businesses, Public and Private Hospitals, and Schools within the territorial jurisdiction of Quezon City. Specific eligibility criteria apply for each category.
What is the eligibility criteria for each category?

Is there a fee to join the QC Green Awards?
No, joining the QC Green Awards is completely free of charge.
What is the judging process for the QC Green Awards?
The entries will undergo a three-step evaluation process:
1.
Desk Review and Evaluation: All QC Green Awards submissions will be reviewed, evaluated, and scored to determine the shortlisted entries for the next round and will be conducted by the QC Green Awards Technical Working Group.
Based on the desk evaluation, only the top entries per category will be included for further screening through field validation.
2.
Field Validation/Inspection: Field validation will be conducted for the top entries per category, with the schedule provided at least one (1) week in advance. This process verifies the existence and functionality of the systems and programs submitted. The average score among validators will be computed and discussed in the final Technical Working Group meeting. At this stage, validators may vote to disqualify an entry if forging or falsification of submitted documents are found and proven. Field validation will be conducted by a composite team of validators from the QC Green Awards Technical Working Group.
3.
Judges’ Interview: The top-scoring finalists in each category will present before a panel of judges, who will deliberate to determine the final placement of the winners. Schedule of Final Presentation before a panel of judges shall be issued to the finalists one (1) week before the deliberation date.
What are the criteria for judging the entries?
Entries will be evaluated based on various criteria such as innovation, sustainability, environmental impact, social and economic impact, feasibility, and scalability. Detailed criteria vary between the Green and Resilient categories.
Can an organization submit entries for multiple categories?
An organization may submit an entry to both the Green and Resilient categories. However, organizations may only submit one (1) entry per category.
What happens if my organization’s entry is selected?
If your entry is selected, you will be notified and may proceed to the field validation/inspection stage. If you become a finalist, you will present your project before a panel of judges during the final deliberation.
