The entries will undergo a three-step evaluation process:

STEP 1: DESK REVIEW & EVALUATION

Period : June 16 - July 30 2023

  • All QC Green Awards entries will be reviewed, evaluated, and scored to come up with a short list of who will move to the next round.
  • The desk review and evaluation will be conducted by a composite team of evaluators as indicated below:

STEP 2: FIELD VALIDATION

Period : August 1 to August 30, 2023

  • Field validation will be conducted for the top 10 entries per category. The qualifying entries will be informed of the schedule at least one (1) week ahead of the field visit. This process allows the actual validation of submitted documents reviewed during the desk evaluation and determines whether the documented systems and programs exist and are functional. The average score among validators will be computed and then deliberated during the final coordination meeting of the Green Awards Technical Working Group.
  • At this stage, validators may vote to disqualify an entry if forging or falsification of submitted documents are found and proven.
  • The field validation will be conducted by a composite team of validators as indicated below:

STEP 3: JUDGES’ INTERVIEW

  • After the field validation, the Top 3 finalists per category shall present in front of a panel of Judges who shall deliberate the final placing of winners.
  • The schedule for the Final Deliberation shall be issued to the finalists one (1) week before the assessment date.

GREEN AND RESILIENT CHAMPION

Open to Barangays and Businesses who will submit an entry both for the Green and Resilience Awards categories have a chance to be considered for this award.

The organization with the highest combined score for the Green and Resilience categories will win this award.

The Green and Resilient Champion may only win once and will no longer be eligible for this year for the Green Award and Resilient Award separately.

THE COMPETITION

Who is eligible to join?

The QC Green Awards is open to applicants from the following organizations within the territorial jurisdiction of Quezon City:

  • Business Establishments
    • Micro Enterprises (10 or fewer employees)
    • Small Organizations (11-50 employees)
    • Medium-sized Organizations (51-250 employees)
    • Large Organizations (251+ employees)
  • Quezon City Barangays
  • Quezon City Sangguniang Kabataan Council
  • Quezon City Youth Organizations

How many entries can an eligible participant submit?

An eligible participant may submit only one (1) entry per category.

Example: A barangay may only submit one (1) entry for the Green Barangay Category and/ or only (1) entry for the Resilient Barangay Category.

How do I make the entry?

  • Register on the microsite.
  • Attend or participate in the training that will be provided per sector.
  • Download the official scorecard of the category you are applying from this site: greenawards.quezoncity.gov.ph
  • Provide documents/ means of verification (MOVs) for every criteria as required in the scorecard
  • Submit your accomplished scorecard and MOVs in PDF format to the official QC Green Awards Google Form.  Please note that submission of physical copies of the accomplished scorecard and MOVs will not be accepted.

How will I know if my entry is received?

The organization through their registered team member will receive an automated email reply to acknowledge the receipt of the entry. The QC Green Awards Technical Working Group will follow up shortly on additional information and details required for the QC Green Awards.

Is it possible for an organization to win more than one (1) award?

An organization may only win one (1) award. If an organization decides to submit an entry each for both the Green Category and the Resilience Category, they may be eligible for the Green and Resilient Champion award.  If the organization wins the Green and Resilient Champion award, they will no longer be eligible this year for the separate Green Award and Resilient Award.

Is there a fee for making an entry?

No. There are no fees required.

SUBMISSIONS

Who is supposed to prepare for the submission of entries?

The interested party/applicant will prepare for the submission of entry.

What do I need to submit to qualify?

All applicants are expected to submit the following documents to qualify:

  • Accomplished scorecard of the category they are vying for
  • MOVs or any document/s that will serve as a proof of documentation relevant to the criteria of the scorecard
  • Proof of attendance or participation in the trainings provided for the QC Green Awards

Can the candidate submit non-english materials?

  • Yes, as long as it is relevant to the criteria of the scorecard.

Where do I submit my entry?

  • The interested applicant may submit to our the QC Green Awards google form (Google Form Link will be open on June 3, 2023)

ANNOUNCEMENT AND AWARDING

When is the target awarding ceremony?  

  • The announcement and awarding of winners of the QC Green Awards: Search for Outstanding Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Action Programs is scheduled on October 2023. Final date will be announced.

Who will be invited to receive the award?

  • The Barangay Chairperson, SK Chairperson, President or Chairperson of the Organization (or highest level representative) of their respective category will be invited to the awarding ceremony.
